About Kennebec Driving Academy
Kennebec Driving Academy is a AAA BLENDED COURSE
So what does that mean for you?
This format blends in person instruction AND online instruction, allowing for more flexibility to accommodate the busy and demanding schedules of students and their families. While the majority of this course is conveniently completed online by the student, there are four classes that are required with a live instructor in person as well as 10 hours of behind the wheel instruction.
Class 1
Class Description: Parent/Student Orientation (90 minutes)
This required 90-minute orientation session is designed for both students and their parents or guardians. During this meeting, we will:
- Complete necessary paperwork and finalize enrollment in the online portion of the course
- Review what to expect in the next two classes
- Discuss strategies for supporting student learning at home
- Outline the process for scheduling the required 10 hours of behind-the-wheel training
- Set clear expectations and review our company policies
This session ensures that families are fully informed, prepared, and aligned for a successful driver education experience.
Classes 2 and 3: Your Road to Driving Begins Here
Students will kick off their driver education journey with two dynamic, in-person, instructor led classes. These two, 3-hour sessions build the foundation for safe, confident driving and are the first step toward getting behind the wheel.
We make learning both effective and enjoyable by blending presentations, hands-on activities, videos, and guest speakers—creating a fun, interactive experience that sticks.
Once these two classes are complete, students will be ready for the most exciting part of driver’s ed: Getting behind the wheel !
Class 4: Review and Exam
This last in person class will provide a short review of the material and the final exam.
Students must complete all online course work before taking the final exam.
Students will receive their learners permit once they have successfully completed all course work, driving hours and passed the written exam.
